Live Art Wall
Check out the Paste Up artwork that young people created on a blank wall, whilst being filmed live with a time lapse camera.
The project took place during business hours in a public space, therefore sharing the space with people walking past.
The idea was for young people to occupy public space and create their own statements without being told what to do and how to do it. This encouraged people walking past to interact with the project as the ‘audience’, changing the relationship between the artists, people passing by and the space.
The emphasis on this project was on the process of improvisation and collaboration. Initially, the large blank wall in a public space was daunting and the participants carefully worked in small areas, as the wall grew, so did their confidence, enabling them to take ownership of the space and allow themselves to create larger works within their environment.
